Lightning Labs develops software that powers the Lightning Network, the layer-two network for faster and cheaper bitcoin payments. Its open-source Lightning systems, including the Lightning Network Daemon, are built to let users send and receive bitcoin more efficiently, and the company also offers a series of non-custodial Lightning-based financial services. Its Lightning Terminal product gives node operators a web-based dashboard, a network explorer and a suite of liquidity tools, aiming to make running a Lightning node simpler and to improve the quality and liquidity of nodes. Lightning Labs has also promoted L402 as an internet-native payments protocol for software agents. The company is privately held and announced its Series B fundraise in April 2022.
