About Komainu

Komainu is an institutional digital-asset custodian founded in 2018 as a joint venture between Nomura, CoinShares and Ledger to provide secure, regulated custody and infrastructure for institutional investors entering the Bitcoin and wider digital-asset ecosystem. It combines traditional finance governance with crypto-native security (MPC, custody, staking and collateral solutions), and holds regulatory approvals and licences across jurisdictions to support institutional Bitcoin custody and services. Komainu’s board and executive team bring deep Bitcoin and financial-markets expertise — notable board members include Adam Back (Blockstream) — and the management team is led by Co‑CEOs Paul Frost‑Smith and Robert Johnson, with Tony Larkin (CFO), Sebastian Widmann (Head of Dubai), Susan Patterson (Head of Jersey) and Darren Jordan (CCO) among senior leaders.
