Global X is a New York–based ETF issuer founded in 2008 and acquired by Mirae Asset in 2018; the firm is best known for thematic growth, income, international access, core, commodities and risk‑management ETF strategies.

Global X has been an active entrant into bitcoin products: it filed to offer a U.S. spot bitcoin ETF in August 2023 and has pursued other bitcoin-related ETF structures, and in June 2025 launched the Global X Bitcoin Covered Call ETF (BCCC) to provide indirect exposure to bitcoin ETPs while seeking option-premium income.

Leadership is headed by CEO Ryan O'Connor (appointed April 2024), a former Global Head of ETF Product at Goldman Sachs and veteran of State Street, with strategic backing and oversight from parent company Mirae Asset and its executive team.
