Trezor is the flagship hardware wallet product from SatoshiLabs, a Prague-based company founded in 2013 by Marek Palatinus and Pavol Rusnak (with early involvement from Alena Vránová) that set out to build secure, user-friendly cold storage for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The project helped pioneer consumer hardware wallets and contributed to Bitcoin ecosystem standards (notably co-authoring the BIP39 mnemonic seed standard), maintaining an open-source, security-first approach to key management. Leadership remains rooted in its founders: Marek Palatinus (known as “Slush”) now serves as the company’s chief executive following a leadership transition, with Pavol Rusnak continuing as a principal co‑founder and technical lead.
