Strike

Strike is a U.S.–based Bitcoin payments app created by Jack Mallers and launched publicly in 2020 under parent company Zap Solutions Inc. Built natively on the Lightning Network, Strike lets users buy Bitcoin directly from a linked U.S. bank account (ACH), convert BTC to dollars in-app, and send or receive instant, low-fee Lightning payments worldwide. The company also offers API and checkout tools that enable merchants (e.g., Shopify sellers) to accept Bitcoin or convert Lightning payments to fiat at settlement. Regulatory compliance is handled through registration as a Money Services Business with FinCEN, plus a growing roster of state money-transmitter licenses; custodial assets are held with regulated trust partners rather than on Strike’s own balance sheet. There are no trading pairs or altcoins—Strike focuses strictly on Bitcoin, charging a transparent spread (≈0.3–0.5 %) with no additional deposit or withdrawal fees. Features such as recurring buys, instant peer-to-peer transfers, and global remittances position Strike as a lightweight alternative to conventional crypto exchanges for users who want simple, low-cost exposure to BTC and Lightning payments.
