Swan Bitcoin

Swan Bitcoin is a U.S.-based, Bitcoin-only brokerage founded in 2019 by Cory Klippsten. The company’s mission is to streamline long-term Bitcoin accumulation through automated recurring buys (daily, weekly, or monthly), instant one-time purchases, and dollar-cost-averaging plans for individuals, businesses, retirement accounts (Swan IRA), and registered investment advisers (Swan Advisor). Swan also runs a Private Client Services desk for high-net-worth and corporate treasury buyers and publishes extensive educational content (Swan Signal, Hard Money newsletter) to reinforce its “Bitcoin-only” ethos. The platform is registered as a Money Services Business (MSB) with FinCEN and performs full KYC/AML screening; it currently serves nearly every U.S. state except New York (no BitLicense) and a handful of international jurisdictions. Custody is optional: users are encouraged to withdraw to self-custody at no extra cost, but Swan provides qualified custody through regulated partners and is in the process of launching its own trust-company custodian after Prime Trust’s 2023 collapse. Funding is via ACH, wires, or automatic bank debits, and pricing is transparent—a flat spread plus tiered fees that decline with purchase volume. Swan does not offer trading, leverage, or altcoins, positioning itself as a low-friction, education-focused ramp for long-term Bitcoin savers rather than active traders.
