Fidelity Digital Assets (part of FMR LLC / Fidelity Investments) was launched as a standalone business in October 2018 to provide enterprise‑grade custody and trade‑execution services for digital assets, with an early emphasis on institutional Bitcoin custody and trading. The business combines Fidelity’s operational infrastructure, security controls, research and educational resources to help institutional investors access and custody Bitcoin and other digital assets. Fidelity Digital Assets is headquartered in Boston and is led by President Tom Jessop, supported by senior operations leadership (including Michael O’Reilly among its key executives), leveraging Fidelity’s broader institutional capabilities to serve asset managers, family offices and other institutional clients.
